Last night I was thinking about random things in life. Then I remembered fractals. Now the funny thing about fractals is that they replicate to an infinte amount within themselves. There have been certain studies into occurance of fractals in nature. Fern leaves, clouds are some examples of fractals in nature.
I was thinking as to why nature choose such a paradigm. I do not know the reason exactly but I was wondering if ‘packing’ can be one reason. You see since the shape is replicated infinite times, the final product (fern plant) is tightly packed without too much loss of space. Clouds are the same. Maybe its an optimisation of some sort.
